Dear Proton
You've travelled so far through this tangled soup of a universe,
And never once did you stop to ask why!
Unlike the thought capable that you inhabit.
Endlessly searching for answers through the mysteries of time.
And on your journey, through the years,
you've seen things that mortal men only dream of;
And through eternity will continue to do so.
And you,
Alive in a seagulls wings,
Or a beam of light.
Shining with the intensity of a million suns.
A leaf on a tree,
Or a star in the sky.
Or alone in the gentle shimmer of the lake.
You have tread in the footsteps of truth,
And know nothing but pure truth.
Not infested by the fears or the hatred of man,
Or the roar of the beast.
You swing on through a million stars,
Connecting and disconnecting;
At last to rest in my own star bones.
And when at last I crumble to dust,
Where will you go then on your journey ?
Dear Proton,
Where will you go ?
